freedom is a whor and life a bore so I went through a door pulled by a hand I never saw before,
wisperred in my ear were secrets of the law like my soul was being cut in half by a saw,
given power to fly up in the sky did I die,
fell into a garbage dump and her pussy i did pump,

as forgetting is to dreaming I woke up screaming as basphamey was blasted from my mind,
in the distance id the drum telling humanity it is dumb,
the slobbering hound of the self is let loose we are all swinging from a noose,
see far and wide this great divide how are we divine,
nothing here is fine so why do we celebrate the drinking of the wine?
we are so inebreate nothing do we see our culture smells like a rape victims pee,
now comes the hour in which we devour soon our wine will sour,
this smoking ball of shit do we escape with a hit,
rats in a coffee can fighting for a place to sit,
soon we shall take to space and punch the new race in the face,

taking up your cross and following Jesus: the five wounds of christ and the consciousness of taking up the cross.
In the following I will attempt to put into lay terms the teaching and spiritual exercise found in the book meditations on the tarot: a journey into christian hermeticsism by an anonymous mystic from the last century with afterword by cardnial hans ers von balthazar.
I will attempt to show what happens in the inner life of a disiple of Christ when they take up the cross and how one strives to imitate Christ.

Prayer is more than simple good thoughts made on behalf of others or the self. it is the putting into action divine power transcending the individual thought and will of the one who prays, it is a sacred act. prayer acts in a double movement ascending and descending, like the flow of blood. the prayer moves upward to god where it is "oxidised" which is changed into grace which descends below from above. it is in the spiritual life that a spiritual asphyxia menaces those who do not practice some form of prayer, he who does practice prayer breaths easy i,e. receives the grace of god. I speak of breathing because, breathing is needed to for all living things breath, animals, plants, fish ect,, prayer is spiritual breathing in god.
now there are two kinds of breathing in prayer, the first is horizontal breathing which is outside to inside and the second is vertical breathing which is above to below and will make up the majority of this writing. the very essence of vertical prayer is the alteration of prayer, exhaling into god and grace inhaling god. the two elements of vertical breathing enter into all parts of the inner life-mind, heart and will. this breathing is what st.paul calls "freedom in god". when one breaths the divine breath one breaths in god. Just as jesus breathed on the apostles to give the holy spirit and when god breathed life into adam, we inhale the spirit. The "law" that vertical prayer woks by is love the lord your god with all your heart, mind and soul. in regards to horizontal breathing it is the external world entering into the inner world of the self and exiting through works. the law this type of prayer works by the "law" of love your neighbour as yourself. the two forms of prayer work best when they are in unity with each other.
many mystics know of the famous saying "that which is above is as that which is below, that which is below is as that which is above, to accomplish the miracles of the one", or for those of the abrahamic faiths "thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" in other words we breath out towards god, he breaths down into us, we then breath out into the world as the outside breaths into us.
this is the esoteric mystery of the cross. if you look at the triple cross popular in the orthodox church and the concept of horizontal/vertical breathing, there are three levels or stages of breath for both the horizontal and vertical. they are: horizontal love of nature, love of ones neighbour and love of the beings in spiritual hierarchies such as angels, saints god's both masculin and feminine. the three levels of vertical breathing are purification, illumination and mystical union which is the mystical path of all religions.
as jesus is known as king, priest and prophet so to do these levels of breath on the vertical side open us up to these vocations. King=purification in that a king is responsible for the moral health of his people. it is governing ones actions in conformity of the law of god -love- that one purifies ones self of the desire to sin. priest= illumination in that a priest has knowledge of god and has a mind that lives in the truth. and prophet=mystical union in that a prophet has developed a connection to god that is of such purity that all actions flow from god and in god. the question then arises how is all of this achieved?
we follow the god-man to the cross to be crucified with him. as we are a part of his body what effect does his wounds have on us? well first a wound is a breach in the body allowing the external into the interior. on the spiritual level we are placed on the cross by first repentance of sin and a desire for christ to save us, this act opens us up and connects us to his body and begins the process of opening up the five wounds. this wounding is necessary to free us from sin because we are governed by sin which comes from the five dark currents of will. the dark currents are the five psychological/spiritual desires that govern our thoughts and actions. the five dark currents are 1) the desire for personal greatness 2) to take 3) to keep 4) to advance 5) to hold onto at the expense of others. you are probably saying "hey numbers 3 and 5 are the same". no they are not really since one deals with material things and the other with people. number three is refusing to sharing. to quote the spoiled child "its mine mine mine mine". and number five the hold onto at the expense of others is about people such as the possessive/abusive boyfriend or that chick you nailed at a party who wont stop calling/stalking you or slavery, generally the "I own you type of attitude". the dark current- the desire for personal greatness is however the source of the other dark currents. on a masculin level it is to be seen as great in ones eyes and on the femine level it is to be thought great in the eyes of others. this is because it was the desire for greatness that tempted eve in the garden "you shall be as gods" said the serpent. first she saw it was that the fruit was good for bringing knowledge so as to be great in ones own eyes (as knowledge is power) then ate the fruit and gave some to adam, eve being seen as great in the eyes of her husband/others. and on the masculin side adam wanting to be great as eve was and so consider himself great.
now how does one acquire the wounds that "bleed" the darkness out of us? there is only one single method, one sole means leading to this and no matter whether it be known to the person or just instinct, every mystic, idealist,spiritual seeker and person of good will makes use of it. in europe as well asia, africa, south and north america, this universal method is none other that the three traditional vows namely poverty,chastity and obedience, these are the nails that break open the dark currents and lets the light of god to purify and illuminate our souls in preparation for divine union.
let us look at the three vows, first obedience. Obedience is the "nail" that corresponds to the office of prophet and the path of union. the practice of it is the silencing of personal desires, emotions and imagination and issues from faith. true obedience is the opposite of tyranny since it issues from faith in a higher power (god) and the orders you obey are rooted in the faith that your actions are guided "by the hand of god". when abram left his home at the command of god he had faith because faith and obedience are the same thing, one does not receive the gift of faith without the expectation of obedience. whoever receives faith obeys because the "hearing of gods voice" inspires obedience. it is the recognition that to serve god is to serve others and in so doing serve oneself, just as abram left so he could become a great nation. he was serving both god and himself and others in the creation of said nation. it is a path to union due to the silencing of personal desires, emotions and imagination so that all your actions are in perfect harmony with god.

Chastity comes from love which purifies the soul and is the reason complete bastards can go from caring about only themselves to dedicating their lives to others and making the world a better place for all. to be chaste is to live according to solar law. the solar law can be compared to the solar system with the sun at the center and all things revolving around it. the sun the giver and sustainer of life is like love and all life circles it. it is in other words making god the center of ones being which is the heart. when we become chaste the we begin to function in conformity with the law of love (love god/neighbour) so that all things become in, with and guided by ultimate source of love the heart of god. when we do this a person is chaste no matter whether one is celibate or married, because chastity leads to the state of perfect virginity in that the soul acting as a womb (as exemplified by mary) and lets god grow inside until gods mind becomes one with us, or in other words it prepares the temple for god to enter and dwell in. it is the inner christ or becoming the christ. so chastity is not strictly a matter of sex for it is possible to be a mother or father and be chaste on the spiritual level, so it is possible to be sexualy active and have the spiritual qualities of the virgin. without chastity one can be a virgin in the flesh but not one in the spirit. chastity since it since it guards against the fanaticism of religion and politics, such as the witch/heretic burnings or the nationalism of hitler's germany, as well as lesser extremes of such beliefs.
these three vows are the only known way to arriving at the five wounds of christ. it should be pointed out that in addition to the three vows there is a fourth, represented in the gosple as the spear that pirced christs side when he was on the cross. the vow of silence which is the ultimate death of self for just as jesus died on the cross so must we, so that the dark currents become the wounds that give life. the practice of of silence is being fully free in the god not just in his presence but in union with the ultimate god head that guides and sustains the universe "for we have the mind of christ" and can be likened to the spear that stabed christs side the blood and water representing the washing away of sin and death along with ego. since the dark currents are in the "blood" in a spiritual sense and is cleansed, the death of self and rebirth in god is found in baptism. baptism (which can be found in every religion in some way shape or form) is not a one time thing but a neverending sacrament that is ongoing always and everywhere, this is why when entering a church we dip our hand into holy water and cross ourselves we "relive" our baptism. as jesus said "truly truly I say unto you unless one is born of the spirit one can not enter the kingdom of heaven" and " those who die for my sake yet shall they live" . this is the mystery of being washed in the blood of the lamb and dying to the self and becoming truly alive, for as st. paul says "I do not live but christ jesus lives in me". the perfection of these vows is impossable though some have come close, such as St. fransis of assisi or in the present epoch padre pio or teresa neuman in italy and germany.(as an interesting bit of trivia, according to the 1948 catholic encyclopedic dictionary up to 95% of reported cases of stigmata are women) but that does not matter becuse it is the practice that matters and the striving for perfection. some will no doubt think "I just don't have the disapline to practice all these vows, I just don't have the time. its to much work." this is just not true. The practice of the vows are done and perfected in prayer and true prayer is not work, as Jesus said "be as little children" children do not work they play. as a child playing cowboys and indians or cops and ninja assassins or what ever, they are in their minds what they play. to turn prayer into play in really very easy. all you need to do is use your imagination and pretend to be jesus or any god/goddess. when you do this you eventually begin to achive to one degree or another union with the the father.
so in conclusion the taking up of the cross is a prossess that happens in the inner world and translates into the outer world through the practice of the vows and death to self. I should also point out that these exercises are NOT limited to christianity, but can be applied to ANY religious/spiritual system since all progresion in the spiritual follow the same path of purification, illumination and union.

The third "nail" is the vow of chastity which corresponds to king/purification and is the most important in that it balances the other two vows from moving towards the more extreme, such as in your obedience to preach the gospel you become one of those assholes who stuff it down peoples throats without concern for the person and what their lives have been like. or in poverty taking a francis of assisi type of life style and sliding into a black pit of despair from seeing all the ugliness the world has in it, or doing nothing for yourself and expecting god to do it all. Chastity comes from love which purifies the soul and is the reason complete bastards can go from caring about only themselves to dedicating their lives to others and making the world a better place for all. to be chaste is to live according to solar law. the solar law can be compared to the solar system with the sun at the center and all things revolving around it. the sun the giver and sustainer of life is like love and all life circles it. it is in other words making god the center of ones being which is the heart. when we become chaste the we begin to function in conformity with the law of love (love god/neighbour) so that all things become in, with and guided by ultimate source of love the heart of god. when we do this a person is chaste no matter whether one is celibate or married, because chastity leads to the state of perfect virginity in that the soul acting as a womb (as exemplified by mary) and lets god grow inside until gods mind becomes one with us, or in other words it prepares the temple for god to enter and dwell in. it is the inner christ or becoming the christ. so chastity is not strictly a matter of sex for it is possible to be a mother or father and be chaste on the spiritual level, so it is possible to be sexualy active and have the spiritual qualities of the virgin. without chastity one can be a virgin in the flesh but not one in the spirit. chastity since it since it guards against the fanaticism of religion and politics, such as the witch/heretic burnings or the nationalism of hitler's germany, as well as lesser extremes of such beliefs.
these three vows are the only known way to arriving at the five wounds of christ. it should be pointed out that in addition to the three vows there is a fourth, represented in the gosple as the spear that pirced christs side when he was on the cross. the vow of silence which is the ultimate death of self for just as jesus died on the cross so must we, so that the dark currents become the wounds that give life. the practice of of silence is being fully free in the god not just in his presence but in union with the ultimate god head that guides and sustains the universe "for we have the mind of christ" and can be likened to the spear that stabed christs side the blood and water representing the washing away of sin and death along with ego. since the dark currents are in the "blood" in a spiritual sense and is cleansed, the death of self and rebirth in god is found in baptism. baptism (which can be found in every religion in some way shape or form) is not a one time thing but a neverending sacrament that is ongoing always and everywhere, this is why when entering a church we dip our hand into holy water and cross ourselves we "relive" our baptism. as jesus said "truly truly I say unto you unless one is born of the spirit one can not enter the kingdom of heaven" and " those who die for my sake yet shall they live" . this is the mystery of being washed in the blood of the lamb and dying to the self and becoming truly alive, for as st. paul says "I do not live but christ jesus lives in me". the perfection of these vows is impossable though some have come close, such as St. fransis of assisi or in the present epoch padre pio or teresa neuman in italy and germany.(as an interesting bit of trivia, according to the 1948 catholic encyclopedic dictionary up to 95% of reported cases of stigmata are women) but that does not matter becuse it is the practice that matters and the striving for perfection. some will no doubt think "I just don't have the disapline to practice all these vows, I just don't have the time. its to much work." this is just not true. The practice of the vows are done and perfected in prayer and true prayer is not work, as Jesus said "be as little children" children do not work they play. as a child playing cowboys and indians or cops and ninja assassins or what ever, they are in their minds what they play. to turn prayer into play in really very easy. all you need to do is use your imagination and pretend to be jesus or any god/goddess. when you do this you eventually begin to achive to one degree or another union with the the father.
so in conclusion the taking up of the cross is a prossess that happens in the inner world and translates into the outer world through the practice of the vows and death to self. I should also point out that these exercises are NOT limited to christianity, but can be applied to ANY religious/spiritual system since all progresion in the spiritual follow the same path of purification, illumination and union.
